Inspiration
The GAME 1989 65 (GB65) continues the design inspiration of the GAME 1989 TKL. It's a creative piece inspired by the GAME BOY released in 1989, inheriting the original design language. This includes the inner and outer frames, the small red light on the front, the side edge lines, the modular distribution on the side and back, and even the foot pad design on the bottom.
For the circular 'A' and 'B' keycaps, we've provided arcade-style joysticks and coin slots as alternatives, allowing for greater customization possibilities and adding to the fun of the keyboard.
Backplate
Regarding the backplate, we haven't added a lot of elements. Instead, we paid homage to the concept of a game cartridge. We've used a magnetic system to recreate the battery cover design, and inside that battery cover, we've hidden a 'game cartridge.' We also provide a replacement 'battery cover' that allows you to display your 'cartridge.'
We believe that the GAME 1989 65 (GB65), with its compact layout, more accurately captures the design of the GAME BOY than the TKL version.
Mount Style
The GAME 1989 65 (GB65) has retained only the gasket structure, this product features a reduced sink space and utilizes a silicone gasket, resulting in a firmer feel that enhances the overall hardness, Therefore, the feel of some hard TOPs can be taken into account.
These structural design changes aim to optimize the GB65 for better performance with "OG." Unlike the TKL version, the GB65 offers several PCB options: a 1.2mm flex- cut PCB, a 1.6mm non-flex cut PCB, The plate options include flex-cut FR4, non-flex-cut aluminum. This update was specifically designed to optimize for no foam combination.
